Welcome To The Poor Man Club

Have you heard of Alibaba? No, i am not referring to the fairy tale Alibaba and the forty thieves. I am also not referring to the
one with the magic carpet. Oh wait..that's Aladdin? Ahhh...nevermind.
Well, as i was saying...if you have heard of Alibaba the China online ecommerce site, you would also know Taobao, Alipay and other such online shopping sites, you have to know Jack Ma (Ma Yun), the man behind all these success stories.

The thing about Jack Ma is that not only is he a successful businessman and philanthropist, he is also a very good speaker and wise person. A quick search on the internet for "Jack Ma Quotes" would give you hundreds of very wise and insightful quotes. Some are about money matters, others about the harsh reality of life.

I particularly liked and was able to relate very closely to his following string of quotes.

In his words, “The worst people to serve are the Poor people”. According to him, most poor people are simply difficult to serve or please, and they would always do this when you try to help them:

Give them free, they think it’s a trap.
Exactly! Why would someone give me something and free? There must be a motive or otherwise, it's a trap. Yea must be!

Tell them it’s a small investment, they’ll say can’t earn much.
Everyone says the rich will always get richer. The rich can use a lot of money to invest and earn much more money. It's a simple formula, 1 x 1 equals 1 but 10 x 1 is 10! Well i used to think in that way too but i am trying to change that with my $500 forex trading account to hopefully grow into a big one!

Tell them to come in big, they’ll say no money.
Come in big? You mean like pumping hundreds of thousands to buy property, to start business or some investment? No way! I live from pay cheque to pay cheque. No money lah! Maybe if i strike 4D or TOTO. Ehh actually i don't buy any those too. Gone case...really no money.

Tell them to try new things, they’ll say they are not sure it will work.
Try new things? I study accounts in polytechnic, accounts in university, doing accounts as my full time job for some many donkey years already, if try something new, cannot then how? (Scratches head..) However, I am trying out many new ways of saving money. Will it work? I have no idea... but i am making sure it does.

Tell them it’s traditional business, they’ll say hard to do.
I thought it's the new millennium, the new age? If i go back to doing things the traditional way or start a traditional business, will people be able to accept? Very difficult...just by the thought if it. Whew!

Tell them it’s a new business model, they’ll say it’s MLM.
I have encountered my fair share of MLM business models and i must say that there is nothing wrong with MLM and if you put 110 perent effort into it, you will be a success story as well. But i guess i am really not the type of person who thrives on meeting new people, new acquaintances and promoting of products or services.

Tell them to run a shop, they’ll say it robs them of freedom.
What should i sell? Hotpot? Chicken rice? Handphone shop? Fashion line? Tending to a shop is no joke and having worked as a shop assistant during my schooling days, i personally know how "no life" that could be. Think of all the weekends and holidays burned....

Tell them run new business, they’ll say they have no expertise. If i can't run a shop how am i supposed to run a new business? Everything is new, i don't have the 'know how' and who can teach me what to do? In fact, i don't even know how to start a blog, trade in Forex, invest in shares and everything else about the financial markets. But since the start of 2016 i have spent so much effort on leaning about financial stuffs that all my years of formal education cannot compare. I mean, i couldn't care less even when i was doing my degree study.

Then he spoke on what they have in common:
– They love to ask google, but do nothing with what they learnt from google
– They listen to friends who are as hopeless as them,
– They think more than an university professor and do less than a blind man.
– Just ask them, what can they do. They won’t be able to answer you.

His advice to “poor people”…
My conclusion and advise to poor people:
Instead of your heart beating faster, why not you just act faster a bit;
Instead of just thinking about it, why not start doing something about it.
Instead of looking for handouts, why not learn and work hard at getting the things done by yourself
Poor people fail because of one common behaviour: Their Whole Life is About Waiting.

Ok having gone through the whole list, it is without a doubt that i am part of the Poor Man Club. It's an auto inclusion club but i wonder if there is an expiry date to the membership. I definitely DO NOT wish to renew this membership can't wait for the day my membership expires!

PS: Have you checked if you are my club mate yet? Hope you don't stay too long though. :)
